BILARABIYA FOR LANGUAGES AND MODERNIZATION

Bilarabiya is a Lebanese non-profit association which was established on 6/7/2017 pursuant to the decision of the Lebanese Minister of Interior – notice of recognition no.1373.

Our fundamental target is to reinforce and promote the Arabic language, as well as eradicating illiteracy and women empowerment.

We do that by providing the less fortunate youth with free educational opportunities; Our team is working hard to provide students with everything they need so they can finish their education and encourages students to use their mother tongue, both spoken and written. Further, we are willing to create an advanced program specialized for the hearing and speech impaired.

  • Preserving, supporting and developing the Arabic language.
  • Abolishing illiteracy and eradicating it all over Lebanon by providing educational opportunities for every citizen.
  • Cooperating with Arabic language educational bodies and specialized centers in partnership with specialists in the fields of sociology and psychology, in order to launch internationally programs accredited programs.
  • Providing educational opportunities for all age groups and genders.
  • Helping families with low incomes to secure all educational requirements for their children.

Eradication of literacy

  • Within the framework of the program of the Ministry of Social Affairs and in cooperation with the concerned Lebanese municipalities, “Bilarabiya” launched the “Lebanon Enlightened” project to eradicate illiteracy and empower the vulnerable, a project that organizes literacy courses at several levels for underprivileged people of all ages in the poorest and most marginalized Lebanese regions. Belarabiya also organized several literacy courses in northern Lebanon for both the Lebanese and refugees.

Arabic language training courses

  • Courses, covering all levels, to enhance the individual’s ability to express themselves in the Arabic language according to international standards.
  • Facilitating people’s access to important information about their mother tongue and enhancing their ability to speak and write in their native language, as an introduction to taking the Arabic language proficiency test.
  • Taking an Arabic language proficiency test, provided that the test taker is given a certificate proving his competence in the Arabic language.

Educational support

  • Helping students in Lebanon to learn by lending families with low incomes a helping hand to access educational opportunities for their children.
  • Supporting families with limited income by providing school supplies such as information equipment, stationery, and books.
  • Multiplying efforts to cover school fees when necessary.

Development of women's skills

  • Training courses, workshops, and seminars.
  • Activities that contribute to developing the personality of women, their capabilities, and defining their goals.
  • Courses to enhance women’s ability to express themselves verbally and in writing.

Supporting people with special needs

  • Removing barriers and obstacles between people with special needs and others by integrating them into society, in cooperation with local administrations and municipalities, to achieve this humanitarian and cultural goal.

Bilarabiya award for culture and science

  • It was launched by the association in celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language, under the auspices of the Lebanese Ministry of Culture. It contributes to our mission dedicated to spreading the Arabic language all over the world within its framework of eight targeted categories.

Arabic proficiency test

  • The Arabic language proficiency test is used to determine the lingual ability of individuals who use the Arabic language in their daily lives, in addition to those who are interested in developing it and those who speak it as a first or second language.
  • The test aims to measure individuals’ ability to make effective use of language in practical communication. Through “listening, reading, speaking and writing” clear and fair participant evaluation is made.

National competitions

  • Organizing municipal and national competitions in the Arabic language in the fields of poetry, prose, recitation, Arabic calligraphy and other.
  • Organizing TV competitions relating to knowledge in the field of the Arabic language, its rules and the principles of pronunciation, for all ages, specializations and social groups.
